FLY IN - BOTSWANA & ZIMBABWE
DAY 1
Depart from Johannesburg International Airport to board Air Botswanas flight to Maun, Gateway to the Okavango (freshwater) Delta. Penduka meet the group at Maun Airport. We travel to our camp in Maun, unpack and relax. In the afternoon an optional game-flight over the delta for an aerial view of this inland wonder. Time for a welcome drink around the campfire, before dinner is served. Overnight Pendukas Maun Camp.
DAY 2
A leisurely day on Mokoros (hand carved wooden dugout canoes) in the papyrus fringed channels of the Okavango Delta including game walk. Packed lunches will be provided by Penduka.

DAY 3
We make an early start and drive through traditional villages before entering the South Gate into Moremi Wildlife Reserve. We should see game en route to this reserve. Our game-drive takes us on a scenic road through the Moremi to Xaxanaka Lagoons. Camp near Xaxanaka in exclusive wilderness area.
DAY 4
Early morning and afternoon game-drives through Moremi with its wilderness of rivers and lagoons, and its magnificent scenery. Time to relax at the camp during the day. Camp near Xaxanaka in exclusive wilderness area.
DAY 5
Having had breakfast we leave Xaxanaka and continue on an interesting river route through Moremi to arrive and set up camp within sight of Kwai River at Moremis North Gate. Camp near Kwai River in exclusive wilderness area.
DAY 6
Early morning and afternoon game drives exploring the Kwai River area should reveal a variety of wildlife. Leisure time to relax at camp during the day. Camp near Kwai river in exclusive wilderness area.
DAY 7
An early morning game drive to have one last look at the Kwai, before returning to our camp for breakfast. We stop en route for lunch. A game drive past the grassy plains of the Mbabane Depression takes us to our campsite. Overnight Pendukas Savuti Camp.
DAY 8
Savuti is one of Africas most densely populated predator areas, and well known for its bull elephants. The Savuti waterhole offers an ever changing spectacle of birds and wildlife. Morning and afternoon game-drives with leisure time during the heat of the day. Overnight Pendukas Savuti Camp.
DAY 9
Leaving the plains of the Savuti Marsh we follow the Ngwezumba Valley driving through mopane forests. Lunch en route. We arrive at the remote pan of Nogaatsha, on which a variety of wildlife depend. Camp within sight of this waterhole Overnight in the area of Nogaatsha.
DAY 10
After breakfast we leave for the Chobe River. On our afternoon game drive in the Chobe National Park we should see the breeding herds of elephant and large herds of buffalo for which this park is famous. Sunset from a lookout point over the Chobe brings the day to a close.

DAY 11
Rise with the dawn to enjoy an early morning game drive along the Chobe River before we leave to cross the border into Zimbabwe at Kazungula. An hours drive takes us to the Victoria Falls. We have lunch on the banks of the Zambezi River after which we take you to your hotel. Spend the afternoon viewing the magnificent Victoria Falls. Own arrangements for dinner. Overnight at Zambezi River Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 12
Our second day in Victoria Falls provides the opportunity for adventure. Among the optional excursions available are:
- A full day or half days exhilarating White water rafting on the gorges below the Falls.
- A full day or half days Canoeing and walking trails on the Upper Zambesi.
- Afternoon cruise on the Zambesi River.
- Flight of the Angels (fly over the famous Victoria Falls).
- Microlighting over the Zambesi.
- Bungee Jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge.
Clients preferring to explore the Falls ad curio shops can do so at leisure. We meet at the colourful Boma (outdoor reed fenced enclosure) Restaurant to try out variety of barbecued specialities and to see traditional dancing for the final evening of our safari. Overnight at Zambesi River Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 13
After breakfast you will have the morning at leisure. Arrangements should be made with your hotel regarding airport transfer to Victoria Falls Airport for outbound flights. US$20 airport tax is required on departure from Zimbabwe. Depart for home or extend trip to South Africa.

Monday Arrive Johannesburg
Meet and transfer to Gold Reef City Hotel. Day at leisure.
Optional tours - If time allows a tour which will include a 30 minute under - ground Gold Mine Tour, a two - tier lift carries you some 220 metres below the surface. Watch a gold pour, visit the mint or relax with a drink at Rosie OGradys Action Bar.
Tuesday
After breakfast transfer to Johannesburg International Airport for your flight to Cape Town.
Transfer to the Vineyard Hotel. (breakfast included)
Once the country escape of Lady Anne Barnard, the Vineyard Hotel is gracefully situated in a peaceful suburb of Cape Town just 10 minutes from the centre of the city.
Old-world charm with a sweeping view of Table Mountain, footpaths wind through some six acres of immaculate gardens to the tinkling sound of the river. A haven of graceful leisure and superb cuisine.
Suggestions for this afternoon: Kirstenbosch National Botanical gardens (5 minutes away) or harbour & seal Island cruise (from Hout Bay) or tours to Robben Island or explore the famous four white beaches of Clifton.
Wednesday
Table Mountain Tour Early Morning
You will be collected from your Hotel and taken directly to the lower station of the world famous Table Mountain cableway (dependent on weather and availability). Your guide will accompany you to the top of the mountain and explain the various sights as well as fauna and flora. The ticket for the cableway is not included in the tour price due to the fact of the weather permitting.
You will be collected from Table Mountain at 09h30 to go through to Paarl, where you will visit the "Taal Monument". Then continue to a local family wine farm for a wine ad cheese tasting of their large variety of homemade cheeses. Through the beautiful Paarl Valley we travel to the historic winelands or similar for a winetasting and then onto Stellenbosch for lunch, followed by a tour of this historic village and returning to Cape Town around 17h00. Drop off at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel for your overnight stay. Breakfast included.
Suggestions for the evening:
Visit the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront with its fascinating historical old buildings, entertainment, shopping centres, music venues and restaurants are a must for every visitor to Cape Town.

Thursday
The Garden Route Cape Town To Port Elizabeth Tour
Depart 08h30 via Sir Lowrys Pass and the apple country of Grabouw to the historic town of Swellendam. We continue past Riversdale to Mossel Bay, where we visit the Post Office Tree. Our trip follows the coastal highway to Wilderness for dinner and an overnight at the Wilderness Holiday Inn Garden Court and breakfast the following day.
Friday
After breakfast we head inland via George and the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, where we visit the famous Cango Caves and Ostrich Farm. Our journey continues via De Rust, Uniondale, Avontuur and the spectacular Prince Alfred Pass back to the coastal route for dinner and overnight at the Wilderness and breakfast the following day. (This routing is dependent of road and weather conditions)
Saturday
After breakfast we head for Plettenberg Bay via Knysna with its magnificent lagoon and Garden of Eden. After a short break we travel over the Groot Rivier and Bloukrans Passes to the primeval forests of the Tsitsikama. From there the road takes us through the rural landscape of the Eastern Cape to Port Elizabeth.
Overnight at the Halyards Resort, which includes breakfast. The Halyards at Port Alfred on the Easter Capes Sunshine Coast, is perfectly positioned halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London. Located I the prestigious Royal Alfred Marina at the mouth of the Kowie River. The Halyards with its unique nautical atmosphere, calls you to come and experience a marina holiday with a difference.
Sunday Day at leisure
Suggested ideas: Visit the Oceanarium as well as the snake park in the complex. A good starting point for The Donkin Heritage Walking Trail are the lighthouse offices of the Port Elizabeth Publicity Association on the Donkin Reserve. The Trail winds its way through the leafy streets where some Victorian homes now house museums, antique shops & quaint stylish tea gardens.
Transfer to Port Elizabeth Airport and check in for your flight to Johannesburg.
On arrival - Transfer to Guest House.

Monday
After a very early breakfast transfer to the Sandton Sun to meet with Welcome tours.
Botswana and Eastern Transvaal Tour
Depart Johannesburg and travel via Pretoria to Pietersburg for a tea stop. Then we continue via Alldays to Pontdrif, the border post of Botswana. After clearing border formalities we will be collected by our Mashatu Game Ranger in an open Landrover and taken across the Limpopo River to the Mashatu Main Camp. Mashatu is the largest privately owned Game Reserve in Southern Africa. In the afternoon we have our first experience of viewing the game from an open vehicle. Dinner and overnight with breakfast the following morning.
Tuesday
Weather permitting most of the day will be spent game-viewing. Breakfast and Dinner at the Mashatu Lodge.
Wednesday
After a last early morning game drive and breakfast we return to Pontdrif and re-enter South Africa. We then travel through the Soutpansberg to Louis Trichardt, named after the famous Voortrekker Leader by the same name. We then continue via the scenically beautiful Duiwelskloof to Tzaneen and our hotel for the night. The Coach House, with its setting in the mountains and surrounded by forests, is the ideal place to relax. Dinner in this romantic setting and overnight with breakfast the following morning.
Thursday
Today we explore the Magoebaskloof and its citrus and tea estates, before heading south-east towards the world famous Blyde River Canyon with its Three Rondawels, Burke's Luck Potholes and God's Window. We continue to the historic Pilgrim's Rest for dinner and overnight at the Royal Hotel with breakfast the following morning.
Friday
After breakfast we travel via the Mac Mac falls to Sabie, timber centre of the Eastern Transvaal and continue over the spectacular Long Tom Pass to Lydenburg for a short lunch stop. We continue via Dullstroom, Belfast and Witbank to Johannesburg where we arrive in the afternoon. Drop off at the Balalaika Hotel in Sandton for your overnight stay. Breakfast included.

Day at Leisure
Sandton City offers you a wide variety of shops, clothing boutiques and restaurants.
Sunday
Pretoria and Diamond Mine Tour
You will be picked up at your hotel and transported to Pretoria to see the famous Voortrekker Monument and Museum. The Voortrekker Monument is certainly awe-inspiring in its immensity. Its a lasting memorial to the fortitude and perseverance of the doughty pioneers who avoided British Rule in the Cape Colony by trekking into the unknown interior between 1834 & 1840.
Other Historical buildings include: Church Square, Kruger House Museum, Melrose House, and the Union Building.
Diamond Mine Tour.
Transfer back to the Balalaika Hotel for overnight stay. Breakfast included.
Monday - Wednesday
Pick up and transfer to Johannesburg Airport, here you will transfer to a shuttle which will take you to Sun City with a transfer to Bakubang Lodge.
Regular shuttles run to an from Bakubang to Sun City.
Sun City is a grand, glittering pleasure palace, an outrageous fantasy world. A huge thrilling playground - love it or loathe, there's no denying that Sun City is quite extraordinary. Your change to win a Million, a fortune at the Casino or choose from a range of sporting facilities - gold, tennis squash courts, bowling, numerous swimming pools and a huge man-made lake where water sports can be enjoyed, or surf in the Valley of waves.
Bakubang Lodge - 'Bakubang' meaning "the people of the hippo", is set like a jewel in the scenic splendour of the Pilanesberg. Its peaceful atmosphere is a balm for the work-weary, while its proximity to Sun City holds the promise of all the excitement you can take. Bakubang offers a great variety of different things to do. Enjoy luxurious hotel accommodation, a bar, restaurant.
You can view game from the comfort on one of our bush vehicles, or even walk amongst the animals with one of our rangers. Animals that can be seen is the hippo as they emerge to feed as the heat of the day subsides. The giraffe, tallest of all the creatures of the veld, some attain a height of over six meters. All of Africa's big cats can be seen daily in the park including the king of the beasts - the lion. The mighty African elephant renowned for both their size and rarity. Pilanesberg also boasts over 364 recorded bird species who constantly fill the air with their song, making it a paradise for all bird watchers.
Breakfast and Dinner is included. Bakubang likes to create a setting that's close to ideal, relaxing and peaceful.
Wednesday
After breakfast we leave Bakubang and transfer to Lesedi, cultural Village. Lesedi is a multi cultural African village set amongst pristine bushveld and rocky hills less than an hours drive from the city of Johannesburg. Situated at Lesedi are a number of different homesteads or traditional villages. At Lesedi a kaleidoscope of colourful African cultures awaits you. On arrival at Lesedi, you will be welcomed by your host who will take your small group up to his homestead to be introduced and welcomed by his family. Do not worry you will be catered for your comfort, with proper beds, bedding, flush toilets and hot showers and wonderful food. Once settled in your comfortable huts you will get to know many colourful and fascinating aspects of their culture.
You will be escorted to the cultural "boma" (reed fenced enclosure) where the different tribes of Lesedi will perform traditional dances and tell stories that date back to the days of their ancestors, taking place under a large indigenous tree and African stars.
The evening meal is a traditional feast with steaks cooked on the open coals, fresh fruit and vegetables and fascinating African dishes. You will wake the next morning to village life and then it is down to the thatched dining area for a full English breakfast, after which you will have some more traditional activity before you bid farewell and sala kahle, stay well, to your hosts who I am sure you will remember forever.

DAY 2 Breakfast - The scenic beauty along the Vaal River invites you to enjoy nature in all its splendour. Approximately 10 kilometres from Parys (about 1 hour from Johannesburg), is an area rich in bird life and totally secluded and unspoilt in its tranquillity. Enjoy rafting down the river where slower sections combine with exciting rapids will leave you both invigorated and refreshed. Lunch is included. Return to your hotel in Johannesburg.
DAY 3 Breakfast - depart for Mpumalanga (Eastern Transvaal), along the scenic Escarpment (The Panorama Route) with a 26 kilometre long Blyde River Canyon one of the routes most spectacular features. On a clear day we can look through God's Window with spectacular views into the forests below. One of the most delightful and interesting places to visit is Pilgrim's Rest a historic gold mining village, restored in its entirety and now declared as a national Monument. Overnight at the Kruger National Park. Dinner included.
DAY 4 After breakfast we spend the day game viewing A night drive to spot wild animals in their natural habitat and bush walk is included. Dinner included.
DAY 5 Enjoy breakfast and drive back to Johannesburg (approximately 4 to 5 hours) arrive Johannesburg International Airport, check in for your flight to Cape Town, the Mother City. Meet and transfer to the City Lodge Victoria and Alfred Waterfront with its fascinating historical old buildings, entertainment, shopping centres, music venues and restaurants are a must for every visitor to Cape Town.
To reach the waterfront a shuttle bus is at the disposal of guests.
DAY 6 Breakfast - a full day Wine Lands Tour - via the National Highway to Paarl where we visit the Taal Monument. Continue to a local family wine farm for wine tasting and a sample of a variety of cheeses. On the historical Boschendal for a wine tasting. Enjoy lunch in Stellenbosch, followed by a tour of the historic village. Return to Cape Town. Evening at leisure.
Mariners Wharf is South Africas very first Harbour front emporium of Sea Food Bistros, restaurants, fresh fish and live lobster, markets, nautical gifts and curio shops. Situated in Hout Bay.
DAY 7 Enjoy your breakfast - Explore the spectacular Cape Peninsula. Two mighty oceans meet at the tip of Africa, the coastline changes with the weather. Visit the naval base Simonstown, see the fishing boats returning to harbour in Hour Bay. Discover what is happening at the Cape Town harbour, the old and historic docklands are having a multi-million Rand face-lift. Weather permitting, a ride on the cable car to the top of Table Mountain.
DAY 8 Breakfast - today we set out for Robben Island, known as South Africas Alcatraz, a prison that included President Nelson Mandela (for 27 years) among its more illustrious inmates. These days, Robben Island has a different and kindlier image : since 1991 it has been embraced by the South African Heritage Programme, which seeks to preserve it as a breeding ground for Damara and Caspian terns, jackass penguins and nearly 30 other species of bird. Splendid views across the bay to Table Mountain. Return to your hotel.
DAY 9 After a leisurely breakfast - be prepared to depart for the Airport.
Return by air to Johannesburg, meet and transfer by road, approximately 1 hour, to Lesedi which is a cultural African Village set amongst pristine bushveld and rocky hills. Tonight as the sun sets over the African bush, you will be escorted to a Boma (reed picket fence enclosure) for an experience of a lifetime. The evening meal is a traditional feast under a towering tree and African skies. The village folk will sing, dance and tell stories of Africa.
DAY 10 You will wake the next morning to the Lesedi Village Life and a full English Breakfast, after which you have some more traditional activity before we bid you farewell and Hamba Kahle (go well). Transfer back to the Johannesburg International Airport for your flight home.

DAY 2 After breakfast - We depart for the Pilanesberg National Park approximately 175 km from Johannesburg. Located adjacent tot he pleasure palaces of Sun City and the Lost City. Its not easy to believe that a thousand million years ago this area was one huge, seething volcano. A more desirable site for a game reserve is difficult to imagine, with its abundance of animal an bird life. Overnight at a luxury hotel Kwa Maritane. Dinner is included.
DAY 3 Breakfast - spend the day at a grand, glittering pleasure palace, an outrageous fantasy world, a huge thrilling playground - love it or loathe it, there is no denying the Sun City is quite extraordinary. DAY 5 After an early breakfast depart from your hotel to a base camp on the Breede River. The experience of river rafting is both rejuvenating and exhilarating, enjoy a 5 star lunch and wine tasting. After a long day return to your hotel. Evening at your leisure.
DAY 6 Breakfast - Your Wine Lands Tour will take you to Paarl to visit the Taal Monument. Continue to a local family wine farm for wine tasting and a sample of a variety of cheese. On to the historical Boschendal for a wine tasting. Enjoy lunch in Stellenbosch, followed by a tour of this historic village. Return to Cape Town. Evening at leisure.

DAY 9 Today we travel through the lake district of Kynsna, a quick visit to the Tsitsikama Forest. Check in for your flight to Johannesburg and relax on board. On arrival in Johannesburg you will be met and transferred by road to Lesedi, approximately an hour drive. Lesedi is a cultural African Village set amongst pristine bushveld and rocky hills. Tonight as the sun sets over the African bush you will be escorted to a Boma (a reed fenced enclosure) for an experience of a lifetime.
